Process Journal Entry #11:

Personal Project Entry #11: (December 18)

Today, I have created my first design of the sign. I have decided to make three designs on order to increase the options available to me. In addition to this, all ideas will be distinct in order to create some variety. This design as seen below consists of many straight lines and has a linear layout. I personally like this design because of its simplicity and its practicality. In addition to this, it will be easier to do because it only utilizes basic functions and it can easily be made in Photoshop or even Microsoft Word for a professional looking finish. For the next design, I think that I will add a more complex design. Its more of a risk than this design but it might look more aesthetically pleasing as well.

As stated in the last entry, I made a more complex design as seen below. It consists of more circular patterns and it also has a different layout than the previous design. I prefer this design over the other design because it is more aesthetically pleasing and it suites the theme of the park more than the previous design. In addition to this, I feel like the layout makes it “flow” more than before and would therefore increase its legibility greatly.

Process Journal Entry #12:

Today, I have been working on my website for quite a bit and I have made significant progress. I have completely finished two parts of my website which are the Timeline/Rubric Section and the About the Project Page.

I am currently above progress in all the written assignments for the Personal Project. However, I have yet to start on my physical product. This will be done this weekend where I will go to Carters to buy my materials and then begin construction.

Process Journal Entry #13

I have completly reworked my website. As I was conducting a survey I found that many people thought of my website to be too "simplistic." In order to change that, I have reconstructed the whole website over the course of a day.

The changes include having a more appealing home page. The addition of more colors. I have also included my pictures of the project instead. This has been completed by not utilising a template but instead I utitlised wixx.coms features to help personalize my website.

Today, I have commenced construction. My goal for the day was to advance on every single part of the course whether it be making holes for the pull up bar or making the board for the sit up bench. As seen below, I have begun making the holes for the pull up bars. This will be to support the bars and hopefully provide a stable enough support so that individuals can hang on to the apparatus.

In addition to this, I have also varnished the other two courses that I have already installed in order to ensure that they last and are not exposed to harmful weather or the notoriously hot sun. Lastly, I marked up each wood with lines in order to know where and how to cut and or connect them.

Today was a long day. We finished up the construction of the sit up bench. As seen by the design, it consists of the user to “hook” their feet around the bar and preform sit-ups. This is effective because it is also on an incline, which forces the individual to put in more effort into the exercise. Afterwards, I varnished the sit up bench in order to protect it from the elements. I varnished the piece before installment because once installed it would be difficult to varnish the bottom halve of the station.

Afterwards, I began attach the bars to the pieces of wood for the pull up bar. Using the holes earlier and inserting a nail through both the metal and the wood in order to provide top quality stability did this. For extra measures, I added some heavy-duty construction adhesive to make sure that the structure remains stable. Lastly, I put on some temporary wooden supports to keep it straight until it is cemented in properly.
